Welcome to the Manhattan Wind Ensemble, Inc.! Founded in 2007, we are a collection of community bands located in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. We have two member organizations: Manhattan Wind Ensemble, a select, audition-only ensemble focused on advanced wind band performance; and Manhattan Symphonic Band, designed to welcome more musicians into the MWE community while continuing our commitment to meaningful, challenging, and high-quality music making. As a group of this size and caliber in the Manhattan area, we provide a musical home for professional, non-professional, and hobbyist musicians throughout the New York City area. We have presented concerts at various venues around New York City, including Symphony Space, the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, B’nai Jeshurun, Hammerstein Ballroom, the 14th Street Y, Speyer Hall, Columbia University, and more!
